What tips can you give me to improve my golf swing?
Here’s a link to me and some of my buddies swings. It has old and new versions to show slight improvements since the beginning of the season: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy0Ur8gCS_4
Best answer is someone who can give tips to at least EG and JB…..ND is a lost cause
JB needs to get some golf shoes so he can keep his balance and finish on his front foot and not his back foot. Him falling back will take away distance on his tee shots. I actually like the ball positioning in the first video for EG, but if hits the ball better with the new swing then that is all that matters.
Golf Instruction – How to Improve Your Swing Power
A common problem for those of us trying to improve at golf is a lack of time to get to a proper practice range. Who says you can’t swing the club anywhere you have space? Here I am hitting Wilson Practice Golf balls (I don’t recommend the product) in the parking lot of my gym. By studying the impact zone in slow motion I can identify some major swing issues that need work:
1. I’m closed at impact
2. Body stops turning on the downswing
3. Casting the Club
The focus presently is on joint mobility, core engagement/stability, and lower body strength, (mainly focused on the glutes).

I’m attempting to drop from a 14 to a 7 handicap by the end of 2010. I started slowly last year building a framework for a modern golf improvement system and have begun to see results, but I haven’t really changed my full swing much, just improved my putting. I’m currently an 11.7 index as of August 2010. Even though the goal is to get to a 7 (really to get under 8.0 would do it for me) I will consider it a huge accomplishment to break into single digits as I’ve never been under a 14 after over 16 years playing this game and the thought of being in the single digits never even crossed my mind until I started this project last Spring.

With the advances in golf club technology, why hasnt more manufacturers come out with complete hybrid iron set?
Why is it that I can only find "clone" or aftermarket complete hybrid iron sets. With the much hyped game improvement capabilities that hybrid irons have to offer I was wondering why I HAVE NOT seen any of the top name brand manufacturers offer any of the complete hybrid sets?? I have seen a couple no name sets online at custom club companies like "pine meadow golf .com" and "golf clubs fore less.com". I love these hybrids and would like to get a quality name brand set but cannot find any with the exception of the Cleveland HI-BORE. and Adams only offers a partial hybrid set . Do I need to stick to my Ping G5’s They are nice forgiving traditional irons but probably not as forgiving as a hybrid set. Should I learn to play better with the traditonal irons or will everyone soon be playing with complete hybrid sets ???? Why dosnt TaylorMade or Callaway or Nike or Cobra .. offer complete hybrid iron sets ??????
Most players look at hybrids to replace their harder-to-hit 2-iron, 3-iron, and 4-irons. Most (even mediocre) players can hit their low irons (6-iron to 9-iron). Therefore, while the 4-hybrid and 3-hybrid might be huge sellers, a 5-hybrid and 6-hybrid might not sell nearly as often. It’s the same reason that you don’t see many 2-iron and 1-iron sets. Manufacturers have to weigh both demand and price-point when deciding what to supply.
